About Morphine
Nothing is what is seems in Kimberly Kane's no-nonsense movie. It tells the story of a young girl called Audrey who chases her big dream of becoming a musician and leaves her loved ones behind to make that dream come true. But the straight road to glory soon turns into a labyrinth filled with sex and drugs. Audrey loses herself and ends up getting high on consciousness-expanding narcotics and uninhibited sex. Many of the similarly minded folks she meets on her way are less interested in her dream than in personal pleasure. But don't worry – this flick does not moralize. It is impressively directed and filled with eye-catching imagery and no-holes-barred sex scenes.

Best movie of 2008! So far, anyway. Marked the title in red in my notebook. Although I am not much of an Audrey Hollander fan, I have to admit that her performance in this flick is world class. Of course, the movie's success doesn't rest on her shoulders alone – there are plenty of other talents in here that are equally impressive. Face Leon, for instance, who I haven't seen in other movies for some months. Or Ashley Blue who plays down the bitchiness for once yet still pushes herself to the limit. A truly great movie with high-calibre performances from everyone.
